About the race

Holland Haven Marathon runners experience the beautiful coast of Lake Michigan as they travel from Grand Haven to Holland. This USATF certified, point-to-point marathon follows Lakeshore Drive past the summer cottages right into downtown Holland. The early September weekend allows for mild weather and a final opportunity to qualify for the Boston Marathon. Boston qualifying hopefuls can make the cut only one day before registration opens.

See what they are saying

Thank you for a wonderful marathon.  I have run a marathon in all 50 states and have completed over 130 marathons.  Your marathon is one of the best run marathons that I have ever run.  Great water stops and plenty of port-a-potties!  Friendly volunteers and great communications from you.  Awesome medal and  shaded course.  Thank you for giving me the opportunity to run your marathon!

I wanted to extend a huge thank you for all your efforts to create a great race experience! It was so well run, despite all the challenges that this year brought. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the course was just beautiful!

It was truly a gift to be able to run an actual marathon this fall and I can't thank you enough. I'm sure you are getting lots of these emails! Thanks again!!

A very simple, yet powerful appreciation for all you did to make our 1st running of the Holland Haven Marathon a memorable event.  Thank you.

Also, many thanks to all the volunteers, as without them we also could not have made it to the finish line.  And the police did a tremendous job ensuring our safety.

Thanks again for the countless hours you put in, and never taking no for an answer, to make the Holland Haven Marathon a reality this year.
